Hey guys I'm attempting to build my first gaming rig which I don't plan to overclock.

Main purpose of the rig is to play games like Battlefield 4 at ultra settings with acceptable frames per second(>55).

Please tell me if I should change any components!!

Here's my build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670

Motherboard: MSI Z87M Gaming

RAM: GSkill 8GB 1660MHz

GPU: MSI GTX760 TwinFrozr

PSU: Seasonic M12 750W

SSD: Adata 128GB

HDD: Toshiba 2TB

OS: Windows 8 64-bit

Will this build last for atleast 3-4 years to come??

...that's not true.

You can save some money with a non Z87 motherboard. If you're not overclocking, you don't need it unless it's cheaper or you want to go with it for aesthetics.

I actually have no knowledge on overclocking. Im afraid I might destroy the components some how.

It probably won't (if you do it correctly), some manufacturers include overclocking software with their motherboards. It's as easy as clicking a huge button.

Also, PCPartPicker will help us decide if it's a good value for where you live.

I'd look for a better graphics card if you want to play Ultra especially for years to come.

I would probably change a few things in this build.

  1. I would use a Samsung SSD rather than an Adata SSD. Samsung SSDs are a bit more reliable.
  2. As other people have said, you should downgrade to a 500-600 watt power supply.
  3. You don't really need a Z87 motherboard unless you want to overclock  (Which you stated you won't). Just get a regular H87 board like this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-h87plus
  4. You can also use the money you save from the power supply, motherboard, and possibly the SSD to get a better graphics card, like the 770: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx770dc2oc2gd5

May I know the difference between a Z87 and H87 motherboard? Will it have significant performance differences?

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

Are you planning to sli?

The motherboard doesn't affect performance.

You can oc with z87 and not with h87. That's pretty much it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1150

I am located in Singapore with a budget of around USD$1700.

Nope I am not planning to SLI.

Why are you using USD if you're in Singapore?

The psu is overkill if you don't plan to sli. A decent 500w is already plenty for a single 760.

Oh I typed USD for your convenience since you're living in the US.

Is the Z87M Gaming motherboard "future-proof"? Can I add upgrades like newer generations of Intel processors and GPU in the future? Or do I have to get a whole new MOBO for compatibility issue?

Okay. noted on the PSU. Thanks!
