I have a problem with my PC. I built it in February 2013. Here are the main specs:

i5 3570k

AsRock z77 extreme4

Patriot 2x4GB 1600MHz DDR3 9-9-9-24 1.5V

HIS 7950 IceQ Boost

Asus Xonar DX

Seasonic G-650W

2TB Seagate Barracuda

Basically I just got the BSOD code 0x000003b yesterday and I don't really know what the problem was. That was like the 5th BSOD with the same code for the last 3 months. It occured randomly. I have googled it and I found several alternatives to this problem.

1. Increase Vcore (DONE when first occured. That time my CPU was clocked at 4.2 GHz)

2. RAM problem, do memory test (DONE, I did memtest on both sticks, no problem found)

3. Check for hardware compatibility, update drivers (DONE, everything is up to date including the BIOS)

Last month I decided to reset my CPU into stock frequency, and reset everything in the BIOS setup except for the RAM config. For some reason yesterday it happened again, BSOD 0x000003b. This time I have no idea what could be causing this since my CPU is running at stock speed, voltage set to auto just like when first time I built my PC.

What is wrong with my PC? Is it hardware failure or perhaps OS failure?

please upload dmp files and has memtest passed for 8 times in a row? and try reinstall and opdate bios

I don't know where the dmp files are, my Minidump folder in %SystemRoot% is empty.

When I did the memtest, each memory stick passed like 5 times in a row and I thought that was enough. Should I really make sure both passed at least 8 times?

I actually have updated my BIOS twice, first one was when I first built my PC back in February, and the second one was in October last year and I believe it was the latest version of the BIOS.

Thanks a lot. I installed the hotfix, but I don't know whether it really works or not because I don't even know when my PC was gonna crash, it happened randomly. Hopefully it works and I'll never see that BSOD in the future.

check if it even saves the dmp files and yes i recomend just letting it pass 8 times but please put all the memory together

If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough it will be believed.

How do I check that?

I did all both ways, separate sticks and both sticks together, and all passed 5 times. But I'll give it another try and let it pass 8 times.

Ok, under the System Failure, both checkboxes are checked, and under Write debugging information it says Kernel memory dump. Small dump recovery : %SystemRoot%\Minidump

then go to that path and see if anything is there (oh and make sure you are able to see hidden files)
