minecraft server hosted behind vpn causes timeout issues

hey

 

we are hosting a minecraft server but want it behind a vpn for security. we have port forwarding on and are forwarding 19132,19133,25565.

 

when i connect i can play for about a minute before i get kicked and have a timeout issue. if i take off the vpn i don't get the timeout issue.

 

is there something we are missing?
