So this weird as shit but my touchpad stopped working on Linux. The mouse still moves around and change location on the screen except selection, ie right/left click stopped working. About an hour and a half previous I spilled a little bit of water around the touch pad so immediately when the mouse thing started I thought it was because of the water. However, this started a whole hour and half after so... I Restarted and still the same, convinced it was broken I started searching for used replacement touchpads. Not looking good. So just for shits and giggles I booted windows(dual boot system). The mouse works fine on windows both location movement and right/left click everything is normal.

i can’t troubleshoot with say an external mouse because it’s too late at night. I would do the few possible but most obvious things like re-install drivers, etc.

Short of that I am mind boggled that it works in one operating system but not the other. What could cause this? I now don’t think the water did it, if there was a significant amount I would of immediately shut it off to prevent potentially causing damage.

any ideas or potential solutions?
