I'm trying to set up a case button as an eject button for my HTPC. I have an unused USB header so I figured if I can get a programmable USB button, I could solder a case button header to it.

https://www.ultimarc.com/usbbutton/control-interface/nanobutton/ basically I need something like this, but without the $31USD shipping to New Zealand charge.

There’s these

don’t know if the shipping is any better.  Also they’re a lot bigger

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

If you can find them in NZ, a Digispark clone with the Attiny85 would work and only cost a few dollars here.

And if you have access to a 3D printer, here are files for a housing to use Cherry switches: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3168287
