There are several utilities.

For files only, you can setup File History and dump it to the 2nd drive.

Alternatively you can purchase a backup program that can backup to an external drive or the cloud.  Several NAS MFGs offer programs that do this with their hardware.

Home PC: Apple M1 Mini, 16gb, 1TB, 10Gig-E.  Adobe CC and Ripping things + Daily stuff.

Gaming PC: Ryzen 7 5800x, 32GB, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti stuffed into a Corsair 380T.

Asgard the FreeNAS Plex Server: AMD EPYC 7443p 24 Core, SuperMicro H12SSL-CT Mobo, 256GB DDR4 3200mhz, Norco 4224 Rack Mount. 100TB+ TrueNAS Core.

Toys:

2017 Focus RS | Frozen White | Daily Driver

1989 Pontiac TransAm | GM Triple White | Heads/Cammed LT1 + T56 swap | Suspension goodies up the wazoo. | HPDE Weekend Warrior toy.

Google, OneDrive, Apple, they all have them and you can tell them what folders to sync.  you just have to pay for the storage.

Keep in mind, cloud is relying on someone else's security.  Remember the fappening?

Many celebrities phones and cloud accounts were hacked. Resulting in embarrassing or nude photos meant for private sharing were posted publicly.

they were specifically targeted. I would not suggest searching the term fappening in any public place or work.

as to local backup utilities both western digital, seagate, and others offer backup programs with their external drives.

apple comes by default with time machine support on any disk.

windows has file history.

Between the two Apple’s Time Machine is the clear winner when it comes to ease of use and setup.
