With tax returns just around the corner I'm looking into upgrading my GPU from my trusty GTX 970. Currently I'm trying to decide between a used GTX 1070 (or 1080 if i can find one in my price range) or an RTX 2060. According to the benchmarks Ive seen they appear to be very close performance wise and NVIDIA has just slashed the price to compete with the RX 5600 XT. (a card I would be tempted to go with but im running an x58 mobo and the vega GPUs had trouble with non uefi bios and windows 10 and idk if the new GPUs have the same problem) So have any advice on which way I should go? I mostly game at 1080p or 1440p ( with older games) and I'm useing a 4k tv (60hz) for my display. My budget is less than $300.00USD for the upgrade. Im running a W3680 @4 ghz and 16 gigs of ddr 3. Trying to upgrade before DOOM Eternal releases :)

Like the idea of a used Nvidia over new AMD...Nvidia just works...drivers are spot on.  A used 1080 can be found for $300 if you search the fleabay...it's what I drive and has never let me down.  That said I only game at 1080x2560...ymmv.
