PC Config Help

Hi All,

I know that all you PC building nerds out there hate people like me. But, I have some knowledge of PC building. However, I could still do with some advice.

So, I am part of a small YouTube channel called FarnBourne Media and the current PCs that we use are really not cutting it anymore. We currently use a HP Slimline PC and a Dell dimension thing from about 12 years ago. We need something newer to keep up with our uploads.

What We Need

We need a good solid computer to edit videos and photos and maybe the odd gaming here and there. I have read lots of articles online about optimal configs. According to some articles, all I need is a quad core and a good GPU and I will be fine. I don’t have much idea where to start. However, I have heard that AMD Ryzen is a good place to start on a budget.

My Requirements

I would like to use an SSD as my boot drive. This only needs to be 120GB and another for my apps. For my files, a hard drive (at least 500GB) should be fine. I am not looking for an RGB system. A power supply with enough power that I can upgrade in the future would be ideal. I don’t want to do water cooling at all, I will stick to air cooling. Finally, the case shouldn’t have a windowed side panel.

My Budge

I am looking to spend no more than £600 GBP ($750 USD for you US folks out there). All the parts should be available on amazon.com or even better amazon.co.uk.
