Hey all, my current build is:

5 3570k

asrock z77 extreme4

MSI GTX 980 4gb OC

Windows 10pro 64 bit

I primarily use my computer for work. I am a photographer and most recently, getting back into video editing.

I'm curious would it be worth upgrading to some newer hardware?

If I were to upgrade I've been thinking about getting a Ryzen 2600, system.

Thoughts?

If it's worth it is kinda up to you

But if you wanted a more efficient workstation then yeah, it would be. Ryzen is super easy to hop on to.

You will have to drop Windows 7.

That looks like a gaming machine from about 8 yrs ago, not something a video-editor or photographer would have...

My thought exactly. I've had the computer for three years, I purchased cheap parts from a few coworkers who did game and it's worked for everything I've needed. Now, I've noticed it's starting to not!

My thought is Ryzen 2600 as I started above. Seems like it will be a step in the professional direction and would be nice to have something that doesn't take forever to render and upload..
