Hey guys, as of now I am in a bit of a situation with my psu. Initially I was going to get the corsair cx (2017) 550w 80+ Bronze however, prices have literally exploded and it jumped from about $80NZD to $200NZD and there's no way I'll buy it. at that. prices. So now I'm stuck looking for a new psu that isn't too bank breaking but is good. If the prices don't go down by. the time I go to purchase my pc parts, I was thinking either go for the 650w corsair cx or something like the Silverstone essential. As of now this is my full pc setup so far: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/user/benjmg/saved/vtMp23. Any help would be great thanks :)

Corsair CX650 for 130 NZD, nothing cheaper but still decent you can get there, there are a lot of various Silverstone units, no reviews on half of them and those that have reviews are worse than Corsair CX so i don't recommend. The only thing that's better there are Corsair RM550x but it's 170 NZD.

Edit: CM MWE Bronze for 80 NZD would be decent too probably but only if you don't intend to upgrade the GPU to smth more powerful (450W are barely enough for mid\high-end PC and there might be coil whine with some GPUs because it's double-forward topology).

this guy @LukeSavenije has made (with help) a PSU tier list.

you should check it out and take some inspiration from that

Just now, Juular said:

Assuming they didn't buy these parts yet i'd also swap the SSD for Crucial MX500 at least but i pretty sure they do already.

true, tho i didnt have a budget to work with, so i just tried to remain at the same cost.

id also probably look at a VA monitor instead of a TN one for more, but the picture quality is much nicer.

and also would the t-force be worse than the g.skill Ripjaws? because I don't mind paying like $10 more for better quality ram

there are 3 companies who make ram.

there is no difference in quality between them from a normal user perspecitve providing the timing and speed is the same.

well it costs less, comes with an extra fan and is seemingly larger with the same number of heatpipes. afaik its better.

alright I'll go with the m9 but I might stick with the g.skill just because it's fully black and apparently the t-force doesn't have the greatest heat sink

DDR4 doesnt create enough heat to warrant a heatsink in the first place. so i dont see how that is an issue regardless of the quality of the Ram.

if you want to pay extra for looks, thats up to you i guess
