Fine Tuning Ram?

Hey guys, so I've been looking into OCing my 3800x, but lots of people said I'm really best off with just enabling PBO and tuning my ram. That whole thing is completely new to me, and I've been looking into it.

 

My current ram is Ripjaws V F43600C16D-16GVKC

 

CL16-19-19-39

 

I watched the video below, and is that what people mean by fine tuning my ram for ryzen? or is there a different method that I'm missing?

Hi Mate,

 

Certainly turn on PCO, XMP and then increase your memory/infinity clock to coupled 1800Mhz using Ryzen Master as a first step.

Use the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen type in all your timings from xmp setting manually and then start deceasing timings slowly one by one, give it a short stress test with Aida64 and do it again but I doubt you'd get much improvement out of that DIMMs it's allready pretty much the best you can get apart from really high priced DIMMs
