I have 1 tap open but still has 4 process running in the bg. is that normal? O.o

Then I have no clue. I guess I don't know anything.

Chrome uses, as said above, one process per tab + other Chrome processes, these can be Chrome itself or extensions.

This is to prevent the entire chrome browser from crashing when say, an extension has a problem, or something like that. It will just close the extension's process and not interrupt your browsing.
