A mate of mine is getting his first pc for general gaming/streaming with a budget of around 650/700 quid and is looking at buying a pre-built system and this is what he's looking at:-

I know there's better value for money out there...

My quick build based around above link: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Estranged/saved/#view=fPK8Jx

My alternate build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Estranged/saved/#view=ZQGXbv

What's the best option bang-for-buck wise outta the above?

Or am I totally wrong and there's a better option out there?

On a scale of 1-10 that pc is a negative 3 in value, you're better off getting a $400 dell and somehow cramming a rx 570 in there.

your pc part picker links are dead

The curry’s build is cute.  It’s very very narrowly pointed.  It’s a 2600x till you run out of cores.  Which is real easy to do with that thing.  Which is why they’re careful about which games they’re making claims for.

im wondering how well the LTT $300 Christmas build would do against this thing?  They did a whole series of the things, but I can’t find the video.  There is this one:

Omg! That actually WAS the video I was looking for but couldn’t find.  The thing basically IS the curry’s build.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

It’s true.  Adding even just a little money can make a big difference at this level. 500 is just below what a decent gaming PC costs and big compromises need to be made.
