It cannot enter hibernation mode anymore, the screen goes black as it should be and the power is "off" for about half a second before it awakens itself.

This didn't happen before and I haven't updated any software/firmware, at all.

Wtf is happening?

Pc specs are on my profile

I don't understand why people use hibernation mode. It takes up HDD space. Just turn it off or use sleep mode.

Nope. I did spill beer (what a shame, an entire bottle) on my laptop once though... but it just kept running fine.

I think my computer might've borrowed (read: stolen) some of my coffee...

Eh. Just turn it off. Mine boots in less than 10 seconds without an SSD. When I use sleep mode the flashing light is kinda bright at night but it doesn't really bother me.

hi i found this on technet try this

Based on my research, this issue can be caused by hardware conflicted or incompatible third party programs. I suggest we first unplug all unnecessary device, such as printer and external device. However, if the issue persists, please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), right click on the "Cmd.exe" in the search result list and select "Run as administrator".

2. Type "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" (without quotation marks) in the open window and press Enter Key.

3. A list of the configured devices to wake the computer will be received, then please type the following command to disable them in order to avoid waking up the computer.

Powercfg -devicedisablewake "devicename"

Note: "devicename" is a device name listed as a result of running the first command.

For example, if the network card "Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet" is listed, we can type the following command to disable it and press Enter.

Powercfg -devicedisablewake "Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet"

4. Please repeat the steps for other devices in the list.

5. Reboot the computer and check this issue again.

What's the result now?

If the issue still occurs, please type the following command and post the result for further research.

1. Click the Start Button, type "cmd" (without quotation marks), right click on the "Cmd.exe" in the search result list and select "Run as administrator".

2. Type "powercfg -lastwake" (without quotation marks) in the open window and press Enter Key.

Thanks,

Novak

I multitask a lot and often have a shitload of programs open, turning it off and then on takes a few seconds yeah but then opening all of my programs again will take a lot of effort lmao

Win 8.1, so yeah =/

Remove the power led cable?

That actually sounds like a clever plan lmfao

Edit: This fixed it, thanks for this.

And if it happens again I could indeed always unplug the led cable @catbutts

Just a quick trick I learned while trying to get sleep at night lmao I had the exact same problem with putting my computer to sleep. That light would just flash at the worst time and piss me off.

It's either a constant light or no light at all!

Not too far offtopic, but my phone charger has a built in LED that blinks when it's plugged in. Terrible idea.

Yeah laptops are remarkably tough until you get out of bed with one and forgot that it's still being charged and you rip out not just the bus that holds the charging plug thing... but also the pcb connected to it
