Hi Community,

If I have a solid state drive that is encrypted with a bios password, (meaning, it would require a password prior to booting the solid state drive), and I were to take that hard drive and swap it into another computer. Could I boot into that hard drive? Would it work, or will the encryption make the solid state drive boot up in only that initial pc where the password was setup?

HD.

You can't encrypt a drive with a BIOS password. All the BIOS password does, like you said, prevent booting on that PC without that password.

There is no "encryption" on the SSD so it would work fine.
