So I used to have a cheap 2x4 DDR4 RAM kit, and it worked perfectly fine, however I've been wanting to play some modded Minecraft, so I decided to upgrade to 16GB of RAM. Decided to "splurge" and buy brand name RAM; I bought a Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 2400MHz kit, installed it, and it booted up fine. The RAM timings, voltage, and clock speed all matched in the BIOS, and it seemed all fine and dandy. Went to Windows and after about a minute the computer froze, five seconds later the screen went black, then another five seconds later everything returned to normal. I figured maybe I'm just stressing my computer too much, so I lowered the overclock on my CPU from 4.0GHz to 3.75GHz, and they might have started occurring less frequently? But I'm not sure. If someone knows why this might be happening it would be great to know.

Edit: the freezes occur much more frequently when playing games/under stress

Download Memtest86 and create a bootable USB Drive.

Boot from it, test your memory for a minimum of 12 continuous hours (ideally 24+)
