should I overclock

hey guys

I have a pc with an intel i7 3770

it runs at 3.4 ghz base clock and it can boost up to 3.8 ghz

should i overclock it ?

the problem is tha I have the base intel cooler and I am not sure if this cooler can handle the Heat

what do you think

incase you wonder the cooler name is

Stock coolers aren’t really designed to oc, they may be ok for stock speeds (but still quite loud), anything higher will produce too much heat. Also 3770 is not unlocked so only option is bclk oc you aware of this ??

It's Upgrade Time!  

 

(I voted no, and it won't oc even through software unless you have software that knows the boards PLL.)

I’m not even sure if he have K version of that chip , didn’t mention that even once.

Doesn't matter. I highly doubt SetFSB would have his PLL in the clock generator list. 

He'd have to find the PLL number on the motherboard to find out....... Honestly, I don't think it's even worth trying. It was time to be retired 5 years ago....

i overclocked it throw bios once and it worked

im not using a K series chip, but to be fair  i dont game or hevaily use it that much

If you don’t game or use it heavily than I wouldn’t bother with oc that cheap at all, more hassle than its worth it.
