Motherboard: MSI x370 Pro Carbon

RAM: Corsair 32GB 3200mhz

CPU: Ryzen 1600

Hi!

My first setup of my PC was 2x4GB 3200mhz ram which was indeed running at 3200mhz. Over Christmas I updated the ram to 2x8gb this was also running at 3200mhz. Happy days. I have now installed another 2x8gb 3200mhz however the A-XMP profile now never allows the machine to boot. It will load fail safes at 2100mhz.

What could the problem be? I have tried the latest Beta Bios and the latest Release Bios all with the same results! I have tried setting the ram freq manually and can only get 2800(Sometimes!)

It's not the same kit. Just read SPD if XMP is not working. If you can't find in bios, download AIDA64 - go to motherboard -> SPD, set frequency, timings and dram voltage manually in BIOS:

I've tried suggestion one from @GoldenLag. Unfortunately the Bios loaded the fails safes again.

I have done some troubleshooting. I have place each pair 16gb into the Motherboard. Both pairs i was able to get 3200 when installed on their own. only when i place all four in I am unable to get 3200mhz

oh wait, there is 4 ramsticks?

well that make sup the reason why.

which CPU is this?

you probably need to tweak ramvoltage.

CPU is a Ryzen 1600

drop speed to 3000mhz.

increase soc voltage to 1,1v and ram voltage to 1,45.

should fix the issues, might be able to do 3200mhz, tho the IF and memmory controller isnt great at running that fast.

ill give it ago. Will it be called SOC voltage on the MSI bios. things are not always named the same

should be.

be carefull when tuning SOC voltage, you should prefferably increase it slowly. also be sure of what you input.

people who are careless with SOC have killed their IMC.

Found it and it didn't work. Post fail again. 3000mh 1.45v 1.1v

drop speed to 2933, increase soc voltage by 1 stepping. (its like 0,035v iirc). edit: its less than that, its like 0,00165v

kinda odd for it to refuse to run at that speed.
