Off-hand, I'd say you downloaded the wrong driver. Either you didn't get the MX-2000II driver, or you don't actually have an MX-2000II.

Other than that, does the mouse work when you plug it into the computer? That is to say, basic functions such as moving the cursor, clicking, scrolling, etc, should work without any driver. If it doesn't, the mouse may be DOA or, perhaps, plugged into a dead USB port. In Windows you should have access to most of the buttons and functions without any driver - mostly a mouse "driver" (usually more of an app) will just enable you to use any special features of the mouse such as programable buttons, etc.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

so they send me the wrong mouse, I got the 2000 instead of the 2000II. which is disappointing. the 2000 is a good mouse but I like how the 2000II looks. so i'm getting my advace refund. gonna use the 2000 while i wait for my 2000 II to come :)
