how about this for $435 CAD a little more then i wanted to spend but should be alot better right?

You need 2 sticks of RAM for Ryzen, otherwise your performance will suffer

The max boost for the 9100F is only 4.2ghz, which is for one core, so they're going to be pretty comparable. I'd just go for the extra cores in general, or just buy a really cheap used Ryzen first gen CPU, and upgrade it next year with Ryzen 4000 if needed.

Could also look for an R5 1600 AF which just stealth launched.

I recently built an arcade machine using an old dell system with a core 2 duo 4300 but it can't even run 60 fps in bloons td 6 and I want to upgrade it what do you think about this - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/tucktin32/saved/#view=XvxZf7

I will also be reusing a GT 1030 I got my school to buy when I built it.

I want to play games like:

*BLOONS

*Duck Game

*stick fight

*MAME

*software.inc

*just cause 4

(No I don't use the arcade buttons for jc4,bloons or softwar.inc but they work great for the others)

Find a cheap used i5 6xxx K or better system, higher clocks the better.

Although even a Ryzen 1200 is likely fine, and a 2200G doesn't even need the graphics card. Would have gone with that originally.

start from scratch imho, the cheapest build i'd recommend is

r5 2600 for 120usd

16gb ddr4 for 70usd

b450m for 60usd

used rx 570 for 100usd

total is only about 350usd

yes you can go cheaper but the huge loss in performance from anything below this makes it not worth.

anything extra u wanna spend should go toward the gpu, 580, 590 etc.

350 us or cad?

usd, u really can't go below that, as i said the performance drop off is huge that you are not actually "saving money" at that point.

Should just sell the GT 1030 and add that to the budget, I would highly recommed buying the GPU used at least RX 470-580s are $80-120, sometimes $99 new right now, but it's 4 times faster than the GT 1030

Or you could probably just use a 2400G with 3200mhz RAM, it's nearly as fast as the 1030 with the built in graphics

but then you need to buy a 2400G cheap from ebay, as they aren't normal price at retail anymore, the rest can be new though

how about this:

As long as the VRM has a heatsink, but you want 3200mhz CL16 RAM for Ryzen 2000

and just make sure the SSD has a DRAM cache.

Still want to upgrade that 1030 at some point maybe.

the mobo is https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hpRzK8/gigabyte-b450m-ds3h-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-ds3h

I don't know what a vrm is

I think the 1030 is fine for the games i'm trying to play maybe excluding jc4

and do you think a wd green ssd would be better cause the a400 has no dram

edit: and change the ram to:  Patriot Viper Steel 8 GB 3200

The VRM is the chips around the CPU socket

this one has a mail in rebate for $35 and would be fine, rebates are a gamble anyways

The WD Green is also cache less

The burst has a DRAM cache

doesn't the 9100f clock higher then the 2600 for cheaper?

It has less cores but there better cores aren't they?

keep in mind i only use this system for games i have another computer for actually doing stuff and want to keep the price down (i'm 13 and don't technically have a job) I only want this one upgraded cause the other is in my garage and it's cold in there
