Yeah it'll work but they're usually super overpriced.

Yeah I just checked ebay. They are so expensive . isn't it just better if I would get an i7 4790k or 4770k?

Check out Xeon E3 1240v3. They're like i7s but they were branded for corporate use. You can't overclock them but they're usually a lot cheaper.

 

If you'll be spending the money on a i7 might as well spend just a little more for a Ryzen upgrade

Bid on a 4770K instead, you can get them close to $100

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

5th gen is actually the peak of Intel IPC before all the bug fixes, though their frequency potential can be absolute trash.
