Which psu is better?

Hi, I was wondering which psu is better in terms of longevity,quality, offer the best bang for the buck, etc

What about sound level? Will it have coil whine, etc?

In terms of longevity - cooler master masterwatt550(maybe bronze too if it is built on the same platform)>Corsair cx500m>all mwe stuff(not very well known oem+caps from "elite" all over the place reputation is not very good).

However terms of warranty matter too.

, what about V550W gold PSU, noticed that V550w gold is slightly higher price than MWE gold

Because its on higher level in everything - oem enhance+all japan caps. If you can afford V550w its not even a discussion

Yup, I’ve actually brought it yesterday because the MWE gold is out of stock, the seller actually gave discount as well.. the seller said that it’s better because it’s “fully modular” 

 

But I have a problem with it, it makes a soft coil whine sound

Well that is when the warranty kicks in i guess(if you dont like it). I think if you'll get a replacement psu the whine will be gone on that one. However i dont think that this wine will have an effect in terms of longevity. Ive had an nvidia videocard (from gigabyte i guess) that had insane coil whine under load(much louder than the fan) and vendor was like "its normal  no RMA for you". Went to aquainted electronics guy who covered all coils with PCB warnish and all became silent(warranty was tampered obviously). Card worked ok for 3 years(then i sold it)

Well, I guess time for me to clafify with cooler master..... hopefully within 7 days as I can get 1 to 1 exchange at the retail store

coil whine is normal and its completely random when it happens and varies according to operating conditions and psu orientation inside the case , sticking your ear next to the PSU will almost certainly make you hear coil whine , i wouldn't exchange a psu if it had coil whine unless it's too loud and audible from a distance that you would normally be with when operating your pc   and causing significant discomfort , the whine noise is high frequency and very directional  and can easily be dampened by changing the orientation of the case

The main issue is, I would be deploying(at the end of January) this PSU 2 hours away from home, therefore it would be easier if I can spot any defect now and hope that it would last long without issues

 

if it’s normal then I guess it would be fine in the long run ? 
 

btw I placed this PSU on top of the case for testing purposes

Decided to do a test fit in a case and the coil while isn’t audible anymore
