I got a 9900k and then realized I needed a new motherboard, and a new cooler, and a new case, and then I needed new RAM, and then a new PSU. So I have all of those things and now I am going to build the new pc that I wasn't expecting to build. I have all of my data(my computer) on 1 hard drive. Is it going to be as simple as plugging in the hard drive like on my old pc and booting? Or am I going to run into issues? Thanks!

yes you could though if you are using a hard drive i would say to you to get a SSD (your data would still be on the hard drive

If I don't reply it's probly because I am in a different time zone or haven't seen your message yet but I will reply when I see it ?

Well I would but I spent an extra $400+ on stuff for the new PC that I wasn't expecting to, so the SSD is going to have to wait.

Since you’re on intel you could always throw in optane. If you are close to a microcenter they sell it really cheap.

its best to reinstall windows for a new PC though you could probably just plug it in and boot from it

btw you can get ssds for under 25 also  (not pressuring you to get one)

I actually just got home from one, that's an hour away. I might just get one off amazon then.

if you do get one leave your hard drive when your installing windows and plug it back in afterwards...it just saves a lot of worry and checking lol (i speak from experience)

Well I'm planning on building the pc now. Can I always move windows over to the SSD if I get on in the future? So all I need to do is plug in the hard drive and it will boot like my old computer?

yes you should be able to though it is best to reinstall windows though you could just boot your old hard drive

You can just install windows on the ssd when you get one and it wont affect your hard drive
