a non autonomous Oculus Quest

Iv been the market of a VR headset and got to thinking that a variant of the Oculus Quest but without it ability to play games on its own wound (just the screen and not the possessors) be a nice addiction to the VR market.

in essences it wound act as a little brother to the Rift s, but as more affordable alternative for new adopters with computers that can run VR games. just an dream though.

I mean, you can already tether the Quest to a PC? Not sure a non-standalone version would be that much cheaper. The bigest cost factor has to be the screen(s) and lenses.

 

The reason for the price is that most other headsets have better resolution and refresh rates since they don't also have to work with a weak built in CPU/GPU.
