Hello, everyone I am a first time builder but have had my current pc built by my brother. I recently have wanted to upgrade my pc because its around a 9 years old. I plan on purchasing the parts on Monday so I want to do as much research as possible on if my planned build would work or if I should switch anything out.

Budget: $1000-1500 USD.

Aim: I just want to enjoy my games without having to worry about my pc exploding (current one gets real loud sometimes and really slow processing other applications). And maybe recording or streaming these games.

Monitors: I am running 2 monitors on my current PC which are both 1920x1080 60hz I plan on getting a larger widescreen monitor that runs at 144hz and probably 1920x1080 or a 2K resolution.

Peripherals: I have no need for any new peripherals, just need like 3 usbs to plug in my keyboard, mouse, and mic

Why are you upgrading?: I just want a newer more efficient PC where I can actually use a browser and other things while playing a high demanding *that is already at min graphics* games.

I already have some planned items but am not sure if its 100% compatible or issues I may run into.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x , is currently on my build list I sort of want maybe an 8-core but am unsure if necessary

MotherBoard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

GPU: EVGA Geforce RTX 2070 Super

RAM: G.Skill Tridentz RGB Series 32GB (2x16GB) , someone recommended this to me for dual channel support

M.2: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C , I am no opposed to changing this but would like a case with some glass on the side
Fans/Cooler: Not sure if I could get away with stock coolers

I am not opposed to change on any of these, I just want to make sure these are compatible and I want the best for my budget.

For a gaming PC it's a bit pricey for no real benefit. You should instead consider an Intel 660p or sabrent rocket.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

And you're buying from the US?

Don't really need 32GBs. Depending on how serious you are about recording/streaming you might want a 3900X

Or just buy my 1950X at a decent discount...

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Buying inside and from the US
I mostly want to record all the time for highlights and might want to finally consider actually streaming.

Well this is what a pretty good PC looks like already

could just about fit the 3900X in

don't really need X570 but if you're going to have the PC for years you might as well go for it.

Or if you're in southern California, got a cheap 1950X system for sale.

Could also get a Coolermaster H500 case for it's 2 200mm RGB fans, supposed to be $99 but I think it's higher atm.

The RX 5700 XT is within about ~10% of the 2070 super's performance at a decently lower price.
