Hello! Super proud to be part of this community and barely switching from console to PC. One problem though, never built a PC complete noob. I'm hoping you guys can help me pick the parts I'd need for the requirements I'm looking to meet with my Gaming PC. Read the build plan thread so I copy/pasted the questions on there to hopefully make my question 10x simpler.

*Would LOVE if the build was able to be done on a NZXT H500 or H710 Preferably*

1. Budget & Location

I live in the US looking to spend around $1,500 (Don't mind going a little lower/higher if need be)

Edit: $1,500 on the pc only, not including the monitors.

2. Aim

I mainly want this to play fortnite at 240 fps consistent at 1080p (with chances of good frames at possibly 1440p) I come from 60fps on my ps4 guys I am trying to get a taste of the good life I've been missing out on so totally open to 1440p or whatever the smoothest gameplay would be for fortnite. Now here's the thing I want it mainly to play fortnite sure but I'd like the PC to be super smooth and snappy and by that I mean like fast boot times, transfer speeds, I'd like things to open and run fast. Dont plan on streaming or video editing but knowing me, I'd randomly get the urge to try some video editing at some point especially with my first own custom pc, why not right? So definitely would like to keep the build a little future proof. High end gaming but yet mid to high level productivity. (Rendering videos)

3. Monitors

How many monitors do you plan on running? Do you plan on moving to more monitors in the future? What resolution are they at too?

A: Oh god yes. I want to run at least 2 monitors with a chance of 3 because I have a regular HD TV hooked on my PC now for when I'm streaming movies, but Id love 2 monitors below, 1 for gaming and 1 for browsing. As far as resolution and hertz goes I'm hoping you guys can help with that too considering the whole gaming fps thing.

4. Peripherals

Do you also need to purchase peripherals such as keyboards and mice as well as monitors ect. Also please tell us if you'll need an OS such as Windows.

A: I'd need monitor suggestions and Windows OS no mice or keyboard I plan on using my Astro C40 controller on my gaming pc

5. Why are you upgrading?

A: Because I'm tired of playing on console! My current computer sucks, and I want to get into building/upgrading pcs

Would the $1500 be including monitors or not?

Build Notes

-The Ryzen 7 3700X is a tiny little bit slower than the competing 9700K now, but it'll likely be faster than it long term. We've already seen it with the i5 9400F vs R5 2600 and the i5 7600K vs R5 1600: more cores makes sense long term.

-The GPU, a 2080 Super, is really the limiting factor here. You'll still likely get 200+FPS all epic settings, but you'll have to turn down a couple to a mere high (/s) to get your full 240FPS.

-Added two extra case fans because the H510 can get a little hot. These are pretty quiet and match the colour scheme. If you want RGB, the Deepcool RF120 is a good option at the price.

-You could easily forego the cooler for the stock cooler.

Honestly, thank you for taking the time to make this list! I am looking over each parts for now and I'd like to ask you one thing, why AMD and not Intel for the CPU? I had seen some things saying Intel was better for gaming? And for the storage would you recommend the SAMSUNG 970 PRO NVMe over the one you listed in terms of performance?

The difference is small today and the extra threads afforded by the AMD system will likely improve your gaming experience in the long run. The difference is already small, anyway. I can't find charts for the 9700K and 3700X directly but for reference this is the higher end 3900X/9900K, in the $500 range.

For the storage in the real world you wouldn't see THAT BIG of a difference in terms of performance. If you have the budget, however, I'd go for the Silicon Power A80 512GB instead. It's not that much more and does get you a lot faster sequential performance, and has DRAM unlike cheaper NVMe/M.2 SSDs.

All the reviews on the parts you listed look really good, thanks again! Do you know a good place/website I can sell my current rig? My PC and monitors? I was thinking trading in a best buy but who knows.

If you're willing to take a bit of risk, eBay gets you a bit more on your money.

Otherwise, if your area permits (pretty much bigger cities only) Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist are good options.

I regularly sell computer components on all 3. If you need any pricing/is this a scam help, just send me a DM.

I've seen some motherboards advertise "fast internet" for gaming etc. How does the internet on the mb support my internet speeds? Currently I have 200mbps dl so if I bought a super fancy motherboard what difference can I see?

Either QoS, which doesn't really help unless your internet is SUPER slow or it's very congested, better WiFi, or a 10G Ethernet chip, which won't help unless you have blazing fast internet.

Amazon has this offer where you can pay it back in a few months with 0 interest so im highly debating on buying better performance parts using that aka increased budget, would you recommend anything a little more top tier than what you had recommended with the 1500 budget? Or is this plenty still.
