27" 1080p monitor for £144, at ebuyer.com

So I had an email through today from eBuyer suggesting me items that I should purchase based on what I previously viewed. I was last looking at monitors and this email was about said topic.

It showed a  Viseo (never heard of them before) 27" 1080p monitor with a reduced price from £177.71 down to £144.99 (Save £32.72) Not that much of a saving, I'll grant that, but a hell of deal when you look at the specs:

  1. 27" monitor
  2. IPS panel (178 degree viewing angle)
  3. VGA, DVI, HDMI inputs
  4. Anti-glare screen (assuming matte)
  5. 60Hz
  6. 16:9 (was hopping for 16:10)

In my opinion, one hell of a deal.

Quick note, looking at the logo, it says "Packard Bell, an Acer Brand" ...OK.

EDIT: After doing a little bit more reading, it is indeed a MATTE screen, not glossy

EDIT: It is also, (apparently) using a MVA Panel (again, something I have never heard of)

Looks like quite a nice monitor. Stand looks flimsy though. Either way, good price for a 27" IPS panel

EDIT: Looks like it's actually an MVA panel

IPS doesn't always mean amazing display... I would rather get Benq VA panel ones if I really wanted 27" 1080p display...

To be honest, I have never heard of a "MVA" panel, could you please divulge any information available? thanks. I asumed IPS because of the 178 degree angle and it didn't specify.

Thanks.

Generally, IPS panels are slightly better than VA. Don't get me wrong, VA panels are way better than TN and anything that's better than TN is a win for me. For me I'll usually take anything rather than a TN panel unless its an extremely high quality one.

Thanks.

It's a type of VA panel. Basically in between TN and IPS. Not quite as good as IPS, but has the viewing angles.

Thanks ever so much. Looking on the Packard Bell site, it doesn't specify what type of MVA panel it is.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything from Packard Bell, but found 4 sites saying that it uses an MVA panel and the specs match up to that of most MVA panels
