Windows installs drivers that breaks everything

So. I had some issues with Windows 8.1 and basically the OS stopped working. So I installed windows 10, without internet, and everything was fine, I also installed the latest nvidia driver for my graphics card. Now after I connect it to the internet in 1 minute or so everything stops working, cursor still moving but everything else is frozen. Tried CTRL-ALT-DEL still nothing. So I shut down the system and end up with the same issue I had on windows 8.1 where after the loading screen with the windows logo the screen just goes black and the lights on the keyboard and mouse shut off. I have no idea what the issue could be nor how to fix it. On Windows 8.1 I was able to go into safe mode where everything would work fine, haven't tried in windows 10 yet but would probably  work as well. Does anyone happen to know what could cause the issue.

So you've installed the latest drivers yourself and then Windows goes a borks it with another version?

I wonder if this is related to the Windows install issues with the LAN driver.  Which version of the install media are you using?
