Hello everyone, hope you guys are doing well, today i have a few question i would like to ask: currently i am having my eyes on the 'massdrop x senheiser 6xx' headphones and the 'Massdrop O2 + SDAC DAC/Amp'. In addition, i am currently having a laptop+ the Steinberg ur mkII interface and a cheap mic plugged into the audio interface. My question is would the sound quality be impacted if i was to conect my set up in the following order:(laptop- audio inter- dac/amp-headphones). Is it possible to even set this up or am i missing something? Thank you for your time:))

Note: i play games like Rainbow six and destiny 2 but i have never experienced accurate and precise aound imaging so i am not aure about this setup and the potential that it has.

Are you sure? Even for this specific model of audio interface?

Well dacs take analog signals to digital so unless you have digital out on the audio interface it's basically impossible to connect the dac. And the sdac ok nly takes USB so it can't really connect to any interface. So if you take a headphone line out and plug it into the audio I terrace with an adapter you basically get a similar result just not as clean

So basically I just going to use the 220v amp to power my headset, the plug my laptop to interface then interface to amp and ill be getting the result i should be getting right?

I mean depending on what headphones you use you might not even need an amp and just use the interface for everything

I did specify it is the senheiser 6xx from massdrop. Also do you think the setup would creat precise or atleast accurate sound imaging?

If this is for gaming I def would not reccomend the 6xx the 58x is abetter choose it has slightly wider soundstage and significantly better imaging

I have 4 options of pads: velour, hybrid velour, sheepskin and fernestrated sheepskin, what are the differences and which one do you recommend?

Sidenote: the setup is intended to be 70% gaming, 30% mixing and producing.

Those are added pads personally the default pads are best. But personally for comfort I would go for hybrid as I'm a big fan of velour .

Also 58x is still my pick for you in this case. And if you are getting an amp the dt 880 is the best pick.

I would refrain from getting the o2 and get a amp like the schiit heresy, monoprice liquid spark, or jds labs atom as they are just better amps for a similar price.

The 880 has a wider soundstage than the 58x and better imaging and has added treble presence to highlight detail for mixing.
