No , the cpu is compatible with the gpu. I think that entire series of cpu doesn't have any known issue as of yet with the gpu.

Well then what is the point of the r 5 3600 for mid range / upper mid range graphics cards

higher end cpus are for higher end  loads.

you've listed no form of cpu requirements so you don't need to change your cpu to use that gpu

ok so do you need that cpu or......?

There should be no one who buys the r 5 3600 becuase it cost 100$ more and gives only about 10$ more performance so if you have a r 5 3600 than you should re think your life choices

From personal Experience, a R5 2600/2600X is a fantastic CPU for the Radeon 5700/5700XT graphics cards. Currently sporting a 2600X and a 5700XT, most games I get anywhere from 90 to 144+ FPS, depending on game. For Example (1080p resolution):

RDR2: 98FPS on High

Overwatch: 158FPS on Ultra

COD: MW: 135FPS on High

Forza Horizon 4: 148FPS on Ultra

Gears 5: 120FPS on High

I am also using the reference card. I have heard of other people achieving higher frames on the custom cards.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 9070XT Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X470-F RAM: Corsair 32GB Vengeance 3600Mhz PSU: Corsair RM850X White

Cooling: Corsair H115i RGB Storage: Samsung 970 Evo NVME (2TB) Case: NZXT H500i White

Keyboard: Corsair K70 Mechanical Mouse: Logitech Superlight 2

according to benchmarks the cpu's have a 30% speed difference between them when accounting for the total speed. these may vary if you are using a program that still is not compatible with muticore cpu's. However people who buy the 3600 are more than likely not concerned with older or lower end tasks like that.

More than likely if they have more money then I'm sure they are comfortable in their life choices.
