Would you go for a 1660ti  mag 15inch instead of the 2070  mech for around the same price?

Mech-17 is better due to its size. No tweaking needed (CPU undervolting aside).

For Mech-15 you need to undervolt the GPU. And it won't be able to sustain 115w heat from GPU.

In thinking of the zephyrus M that is at 1400 usd with a 1660ti

Or this one for 1700 usd with a 2070

This one is an S that is on offer supposedly

And this is an older one that had a 1080 but g sync and supposedly under a huge offer

I haven't looked into the msi stealth or the razer options but those are valid too, what should I pick?

OK with below 2.5kg or prefer around 2kg (thin and light)?

Consider Eluktronics Mech-15 G2 / G2Rx, preferably 2060/2070MQ. With Tongfang GPU boost aka Eluktroboost it can boost GPU to 115W which will outperform most laptops with similar specs (requires some tweaking). Surprisingly good cooling for a thin and light too. Good exterior build quality.

If you prefer something even smaller+lighter with longer battery life, consider Eluktronics Mag-15. Similar performance and thermals, but requires some tweaking also. With TB3. No numpad though which might bother some. No 2060 GPU option, only 1660Ti (slightly faster than most 2060 laptops with Boost enabled) or 2070MQ

Other options below 2.2kg:

Lenovo Legion Y740 15 81UH0001US / RTX customize

Lenovo Legion Y540 15 customize (2060): actual weight is around 2.2kg instead of stated 2.3kg

Clevo NH58RDQ

Tongfang GK5CP6X rebranded by Walmart EVOO: 1660Ti thin and light under $1000

Let me know if you have other options in mind

These are the ones in currently looking at since it's a 2070 but at 1600 USD

2019 Black Cyber Holiday Special ~ Eluktronics MECH-17 G1Rx Slim & Light NVIDIA RTX 2070 VR Ready Gaming Laptop with Mechanical RGB Keyboard Intel i7-9750H 17.3" 144Hz 1TB NVMe SSD + 16GB RAM

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081XT9KLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GZlaEbM2BV2H1

Asus ROG Zephyrus S Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop, 15.6" 144Hz IPS Type FHD, GeForce RTX 2070, Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB DDR4, 512GB PCIe Nvme SSD, Aura Sync RGB, Windows 10, GX531GW-AB76 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QN3683G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VXlaEbT6YN37Z

Idk how much heavier is 2.4 kg from 2.1kg from the zephyrus, also the eluktronics has 1tb while the zephyrus has 512mb storage (I personally don't like Lenovo) and it's 17 vs 15.6 inch

I don't think the Amazon offer will being the factory oc on the eluktronics.

Considering all this should I lean towards the eluktronics or the zephyrus?

I would avoid Asus due to poor QC+aftersales. Also GX531 uses 2070MQ not 2070MP. Would go for Mech or Mag with 2070MQ boosted

Also it's not a 'factory OC' thing. It's a hardware mod from Tongfang to increase GPU TDP. Eluktronics call it as Eluktroboost and it's enabled by default

Mech 17 is also a very decent laptop, however it's a 17 inch device

Would you go for a 1660ti  mag 15inch instead of the 2070  mech for around the same price?

The 15.6 is1300 USD with 512mb ssd I could buy a bigger ssd with the 300 usd i have left too

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R11KV1N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JnnaEbWNX8ZBG

Edit: it seems the 15.6 is a 2070 Max q with the boost while the 17inch is a full 2070.
