The issue seen in the attached pictures started happening tonight out of the blue. The laptop was just sitting there playing a Youtube video when it first happened, so it wasn't dropped or anything like that.

When I turn on the computer from a completely off state the screen is normal for a bit then after a minute or two this happens, even if I don't touch the laptop at all. When I do a restart the screen has this problem the entire time; it isn't fixed for a short time like with a complete off/on.

So far I have updated as many drivers as I could find, checked the screen ribbon cable, and inspected the boards for any damage/loose stuff in general. It doesn't seem to be the cable or the screen since moving around/tapping/flexing the screen/hinge doesn't cause it to happen or make it go away at all.

Mainly hoping this is something somebody has seen before on another laptop so I can identify what exactly the problem is.

I've seen a somewhat similar issues and it was a dying GPU. Since it doesn't happen right away, might just be thermal or a short somewhere. Are the internals of the notebook clean? I'd try to remove dust/clean it as much as possible.
