Here's my current system:

GIGABYTE X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI

AMD RYZEN 5 2600

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 32GB

Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 1200W

XFX RX 580

Fractal Design Define S2

SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 500GB

SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB

OK, there is little point in upgrading the RAM, I already have plenty. I'm OK with the 2600. No heat problems, no flickering or slowdowns. Same way for my 580. SSD's are about as groovy as you can get.

Oh, and I'm fine with one M.2 slot, I have a PCI-E M.2 adapter.

But, the things I want to upgrade...

I want to get a new board. While this one works fine and dandy, I think moving down to a M-ATX will give me more choices for a smaller case. I want to keep my RAM, so 4 memory slots are needed.

That being said, I would like to move to a smaller case footprint. Define S2 is WAY too bulky. Seen a lot of Linus' vids on small cases. What you suggest given the above?

Also, I might not NEED 1200W. As I never used dual+ GFX cards. I bought it because I think it would be cool to try more powerful things out, but never got around to it. Would a SFF PSU do? Maybe a 650-750W?

If anyone has some ideas or questions for me, let me know. :D

Edit: I also have a PCI-E cable to mount it horizontally.

MSI B450M Mortar and its titanium/Max variant. It's not much of an improvement though

SFF PSU wont help with saving space when the board's still mATX

Sorry, but I despise MSI motherboards. The last one I used, I had to RMA it 3 times. After that, I hated them.

I do understand that they are better now, but ASUS, ASRock, and Gigabyte are my main go.

Oh, SFF won't matter for mATX, OK.

I forgot to mention a budget, around $200-300 in total...

Well then all (yes. every single one of them) your options are downgrades of your current board. mITX? Not using all your sticks but that's pretty much necessary to really shrink the system.
