Unstable fps. Power Limit Throttling

Go to solution Solved by Iki_Sticky,

hey there i fixed my problem. well kindoff. i did a fresh install on my os. whoever has this problem consider trying making a bootable operatin system usb drive and reseting your windows. my fps is totaly fine now and i have learned not to fuck around with my pc settings anymore to get a peformance boost :P. ty all for the support <3

Well i have this problem where when i do a benchmark, my Power limit and my Voltage limit jumps all the time. i know in games like csgo when im alone on a map and there is no player models i get around 400 fps as soon as i render player models my fps can drop to 130 fps. i'v try'd anything there is to fix this problem and im starting to think that its most likley becouse my pc dosent consume enogh power from my powersuply even tho i have checked how much my pc's power usage is while im playing it dosent go above 180w (gpu-z). my pc isent overheating at all. my cpu temp's is 39-46 C. and my gpu is 39-75 C. max. i know i have disabled smt in bios and it helped me a little bit. i gained around 40 more fps then i used to but still my fps is going from 300 to 130 in matter of seconds. im sorry if my english writing is bad i hope you understand this whoever is reading this :P  and also. my cpu threads like to spike up even tho im not doing anything cpu stressuf on my pc.

Firstly, you can't judge how much power your PC is pulling without having a plug monitor plugged into the wall. In Afterburner, have you turned up temperature and power limit?

You're going to lose FPS in CSGO going from an empty server you're hosting to a regular match. What resolution are you playing on?

And you turned both Power Limit and Temp limit up to max correct? Not voltage. Don't touch voltage. Just the limits. The other thing, is go into your Windows Power Settings and make sure you have everything turned up to Ultimate Performace or Extreme Performance. ALSO go into your Nvidia Control panel and make sure your power settings are turned to Performance and not power saving or Balanced or anything

Check my last reply and tell me what you find. If you don't have Ultimate Performance in your Windows settings, run Command Prompt as an Administrator and put powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 in the line and hit enter. Now the option will be there.

Does the option show up when you open up your power settings? If it's already there the command won't work.

Possibly? Give it a try. It won't add the option or anything but there may be an issue with your current version of Windows and your driver. Before you do that though just make sure your power settings are all set to performance and then check your game.

Go into your power settings in windows and tell me what options you have.

You can also make a power plan, just it to High Performance, and then whatever options you want for your sleep and all that crap. And then do the same in Nvidia control panel.
