Is it really worth the extra cash to upgrade from an i5-3570k clocked at 4.4GHz to an i7-3770k. I have a gaming channel that is really beginning to take off and I need a more professional CPU without switching motherboards. I really need your help on this one.

Disabling Hyperthreading pretty much halves my performance in rendering and such so it may be worth it, depends how much you need that extra speed, you could always sell your 770 and upgrade to a 780/290 and use that for rendering, I find video rendering to be ridiculously fast between my Xeon and 290.

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

my 720p render times on a 3770k for my youtube channel are pretty much exactly the same as the length of the video (5 minute video is around a 5 minute render with commentary / outros / etc included) on my i5-2400 which is somewhat comparable to your CPU they were twice as long. (5 minute video was a 10 minute render).

if you're recording PC footage and want to have as little editing/rendering downtime as possible than an i7 will definitely help. hope this helps.

Edit: and good luck with your youtube channel

I can vouch for this.

I made a 15 minute long 1080p video @ 22,500,000 bps and it was basically real-time rendering.

(4770k. Not much difference from the 3770k)

Compare the 3770k and 2500k here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5771/the-intel-ivy-bridge-core-i7-3770k-review/6

It's far from halved and more along the lines of ~30% at best.
