I do not think that you can OC with a GD55 Motherboard.

why is that?

Also why did Linus oc the 3570k to 4.2 GHz on his video comparison of the 3570k, and the AMD 8350? ( I think that was the model number)

Maybe it was a bad chip and that was as high he could get it (Very unlikely) but thats my reason because I thought they would always OC as far as they could

Hope I could help!

Yes, you can overclock. The performance gained will not be that big, but, hey, every little bit counts, doesn't it? :)

If you had a higher end GPU I'd do it, however as it is currently, the minfps & avgfps gains would be minimal at best by overclocking that CPU as its still no slouch!

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Linus did that to show that anyone with some skills can at least get 4.2 overclock

on that particular CPU. even using the OC genie can wrangle a 4.2. usually can

get 4.2 on stock voltage without extra heat production.
