Which RTX 2070 Super to get?

Shiniontv

Hey everyone

I want to buy a new GPU - the RTX 2070 Super. However, I am unsure of which one to buy. I do not want to go that far over MSRP, so good stuff around there would be great.

Currently I am looking at the RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC. Not too far from MSRP, and from what I have seen, it's quite good.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Shinion

Hmm, Gigabyte GPUs seem to be cheapest and they're alright, nothing special but will do just fine.

Aren’t they fairly cool and quiet?

Would it draw too much power in a build like this:

?

Even 550W will be enough but i'd get better PSU for this build.

You haven't bought anything yet ?

@Juular

PCPartpicker says, that the motherboard, I have has an extra 4 pin connector needed for extreme overclocking or large video card current draws.

The Corsair PSU however does not have this extra 4 pin connector, so I am worried that I might need it? Will I be needing that extra 4 pin and what should I do, since I already have the Corsair PSU?

Corsair CXm ? Well, it's suboptimal but since you already have it, fine, keep it. Don't worry about extra EPS connector.

So the extra is an EPS connector?

So in this case the 2070S wouldn’t be considered a card with large current draws?

Also, if I happened to need it, would it just be a cable, I needed to buy or a whole new PSU?

No idea why PCPP mentions "large video card current draws", motherboard only supplies just about 50-75W through PCI-e slot, all extra power are supplied by PSU directly through PCI-e additional power cables. Extra EPS connectors matter only for very high power draw or extremely OC'd CPUs, single 8-pin connector are completely okay even for i9 9900k OC'd to usual 5GHz.

Yep, good 650\750W PSUs usually have it, cheapest good unit in Denmark right now would be Corsair RM750x but if you're getting new PSU i'd advice to get cheaper, be quiet! Straight Power 11 550W instead as disregarding that extra EPS connector, it's somewhat better unit overall.

If you really need extra EPS connector - yes, you would need a new PSU.
