I have a laptop with an ssd in it currently it has an extra drive bay I don't know wether to get an ssd or a hard drive just looking for some thhoughts here. Thanks

What are you going to be using the system for? 

Depending on the capacity your want or need SSD would be my choice.

depends on your budget really. ssd is always better, but an hdd won't feel too slow since you already have an ssd running your OS and other operations.

hdd might be the way to go if you want large capacity

SSD - Less power, faster, more shock resistant. I would not put a HDD in a laptop in 2019. My local store is not even stocking 7200rpm 2.5" drives anymore. In 2.5" they only have 500GB OEM drives pulled from customer's they upgrade and 2TB drives.
