Can I crossfire these two cards?

Hey I'm planning to crossfire a sapphire trix r9 290 with a gigabyte windforce r9 290. I have the trix r9 290 right now but it is so hard to find another one. Newegg keeps raising the price now it 650$ it was 570$. If I get a windforce card will the 2 run smooth and will I lose any performance ?

Would I have to tweak it at all like to make the card the same

Cards in crossfire will run as fast as the slowest card. Card that is faster, will downclock to match slowest.

Can I do it with a r9 280x sapphire toxic? Or it r9 290 only

290 can only go with a 290 or a 290X.
