Network help

Hi guys, I want to upgrade my network. What is the pros and cons of this? I currently run BT router with a mesh system  (complete Wi-fi) and want to upgrade my network. Is it worth getting my own router and access points eg a ubiquiti system. Or build up a rack. What would be recommended.

When you say you want to upgrade your network... What are you hoping to accomplish by "upgrading"? More wireless coverage?

Trying to take the brand names out of this one you’ve got a WiFi based system owned by someone else. but are thinking of going with either your own WiFi network or go wired, yes?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
