Hi LTT community.

I have a problem that occurs when I play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019. The problem is that whenever i go into a game, my discord/facebook voicechat gets delayed a whole lot. When i say something my friends hear it 10 seconds later, and sometimes they can't even hear what I'm saying. As soon as i get back into the menu of the game, I can hear them loud and clear like normal. Does anyone know what the cause of this is? :)

One of the first things I always recommend is that you try disabling Discord's overlay (Settings -> App Settings -> Overlay -> Enable Overlay.)
Their overlay causes some bizarre issues sometimes. It's a quick test, fixes issues sometimes, other times not so much.

In game overlay is disabled and the problem still persists

My next question would be, Are you running any Antivirus? I know some years back Avast or AVG (both? I forget at this point) was (were) giving people some issue.

A quick Google search shows that using PTT caused some delay issues a few years back as well.

I've tried disabling my antivirus aswell without any result. My computer also has a hard time alt-tabbing when play this game regardless of it being fullscreen or windowed fullscreen. Can it be that the computer uses too many resources on the game?

It's possible, yes, I would expect to see a degradation in in-game performance as well if that were the case though.

Pull up your resource monitor on a second screen if you have it, or let it run in the background and reproduce the issue, it should have a 60-second graph.

See if you can figure out what's eating up most of your CPU, if it's a background process that's being troublesome, and/or give your system a reboot and see what your usage is like in a fresh boot environment (sitting at your desktop having only what you have running at startup - this'll tell you if you have some things you can clean up)

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Call of Duty (reference for the last title I played was the original Black Ops), but I have heard grumblings that it's a resource hog, I can't confirm or debunk this however.

This one's a bit beyond my wheelhouse to help you with beyond here, unfortunately. You may wish to explore discussions delving into MW eating up resources and/or how it can be resolved.

Try capping the framerate to 60FPS in the game's video settings. Depending on how high your framerates were normally, this could slightly limit the strain on the CPU (as it won't try to keep up with as many frames coming from the GPU), therefore potentially lowering CPU usage and allowing other apps (Discord for example) to work properly.
