PSU Problem?

Hello everyone. 

I've recently bought a used PC

Specifications:

I5 - 2500k

RX 580 4GB OC

12GB DDR3 1600 RAM

and a 500w PSU

I was playing Forza 4, and suddenly the PC shut off, the PC gave a plastic smell

So what could be the problem? 

Maybe the PSU burned? 

Maybe the motherboard? 

Any ideas or tips?

Was it a cheapy chinese PSU

Someone have cheaped out on the PSU.

Never heard of the brand, doesn't really have a name, just says 500w.
