Can't see why not so long as the PSU has enough watts. Obviously both boards would start and stop when either or the other was turned on/off.

Just thinking that if you initiate shutdown on one board then the other board will just get a hard shutdown with instant power off. Data loss issues?

Not sure if there is a shutdown state you could script to prepare the machine for shutdown but leave the power on. Thinking trigger it on both systems then power off after a timed break giving both systems a chance to finish the script.
