So I have the chance the to pick up the Dell Alienware AW3418DW for around £600, it’s a newer revision so hopefully less prone to the old flickering issue. It also has all original box and accessories and had 2 year warranty from dell left

would it be worth picking up? Or is there better options?

TIA

That's one of the best UW displays you can get, I'd definitely say go for it

Cool! I’ve been using a 1080p 60hz aoc display for 4 years and trying to do coding on one monitor has become a pain and probably time to come into the real world

Good deal I would do it.  I have the older version and haven't had any issues besides some normal corner IPS glow and one corner's frame has a gap but I got mine for $620 when they were normally going for $900 a year ago

SFF Time N-ATX V2 - Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro WIFI - AMD Ryzen 9 5800X3D - Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090 - LG C2 OLED 42"

Congrats.  People forget how hard 3440X1440 is to drive.  Red Dead is a killer and I only average maybe 60 FPS with a RTX 2080 Ti which is still better than 30 FPS locked on console...

Yeah I’ve heard about this red dead situation. I’ve been playing console mainly just because of ease. But just building a new rig and last piece to get is a new gpu can’t decide what’s best for the price

for this monitor you could do a 5700XT or RTX 2070 Super and that will hit around 80-100+ frames in most games, with some exceptions like Red Dead.  Really depends on your budget, since if the rumored of the RTX 2080 Ti Super comes true the 2080 Ti should drop maybe even sub $1K which is still a lot but quite frankly the best card for 3440x1440 and 4K with out turning down any settings

Yeah think I’m going for the 2070 super can’t justify the massive price for the little gains of anything higher than a 2070s
