Possible problem with my graphics card

Hey,

 

I started having this problem yesterday. My computer is 4-5 years old and I never experienced an issue like this. When I enter game, I can play the game normally with max graphics etc for about. 5-20 min. At some point my screen goes to solid color with light vertical lines (can be grey, green, blue, orange). The game and audio continues on the background for about 1 min and then screen goes black and I cannot hear game or audio anymore. When screen turns black, comes text "monitor shutting down" and then it starts automatically again. Then it shuts down again and starts again etc... Then I have to force power off my computer. 

 

Have tried:

- Updating drivers

- Restarting computer

- Updating windows updates etc...

Did you try on another monitor or TV ?

Did you try with another cable (HDMI or DP) ?

Did you try with another GPU ?

 

This could be one of those 3.

Haven't tried but I don't have another GPU and also my friends have only laptop so cannot try another one

Should at least try a different cable and monitor, even a tv. You can also try a different port (try hdmi if you were connected via dp and vice versa). 

If that doesnt help, check your thermals. Maybe a fan has stopped working, Maybe you didnt clean the pc in 5 years and dust is stoppimg the fan or any other thermals related issue.
