Phanteks universal fan controller question

Hello I have 6 3 pin fans hooked up to the phanteks universal fan controller with one going into fan 1, 2 going into 4 pin slot, and 3 going into the 3 pin slots. It looks like the 3 pin fans going into the 4 pin are running at full speed instead of the fan 1 speed that I have set. Do I need splitters to make this work?

Well, they will because the 4 pin headers of your fan controller are always getting +12v. The 4th pin is the PWM (Pulse Wave Modulation) channel that gets a PWM signal that determines the duty cycle (% of maximum fan speed) for the fan. If you wish to slow down your existing fan to match the existing fans then yes, you'll need a 2-way 3-pin fan splitter and pair it up with one of the other 3 pin fan headers. If on the other hand you want to use the 4 pin header of the controller, get a 4-pin PWM fan (obviously, utilising a fan splitter would be the cheaper option).

Yes you have to buy splitters. I have my aio 3pin pump at 4 pin header. Loud AF, so buying splitter soon.
