So Amazon is having a really good deal on two laptops that are almost identical except the GPU.

Acer Predator Helios 300

ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR II

Other than the GPU, these systems are identical. I have seen that the 9750h and the 8750h are gonna basically perform the same.

From what I have seen the Acer has better upgrade options with 2 M.2 slots and a 2.5" drive bay.

Also the 2070 vs 1660ti is anywhere from 5 - 15% faster depending on the game.

Which would you choose based on the current deal?!

***EDIT***

Also the Acer comes with dual channel setup while the ASUS only comes with a single dimm.

Do you just need a laptop or do you need a portable desktop?

I'd look at machines with an i5 8300h or i5 9300h, as it's still a 4 core/8 thread CPU that's fine for gaming. Should be a lot cheaper and still has a 1660ti.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I would be replacing my desktop with this. Also looking at these options because of the Amazon monthly payment options.

There's also pay pal credit on ebay with up to 24 months 0% interest financing.

I doubt the extra $400 is worth the little jump in GPU performance anyways. especially since it's a laptop GPU.

Whoa that's a good bit of savings going with the ASUS laptop.  I'd do that and buy another RAM stick.
