I built a new gaming computer (on a budget) and lately my graphics card has been getting to around 50 degrees C even when running a game (like minecraft for example) and a chrome tab open.

My card is a xfx 7870. Water cooling is not a option. I am asking if anyone has a solution of how to make it run cooler with out spending too much money on it.

Please reply

Last i checked minecraft and chrome was just a little above idle...i mean honestly minecraft doesn take that much, but like Villian said 50c is pretty darn good. I woldnt worry too much. But to be safe POWER OFF the computer and get your self a can of canned air and blow all the dust out of the sucker and make sure the fan on the card is working properly

50c is a pretty good temperature. 60c is usually the temperature of gpus when they are on load so your gpu temperature is great.

As mentioned 50°C isnt anything to worry about, but it would be helpful to know what your other systems temps are (motherboard / CPU). This would help with context for the GPU temps. Also what is youy room temperature (Ambient)? If you run a benchmark such as Unigene or Furmark, what maximum temps do you get on the GPU?

As long as its not hotter than 95°C under load, everything is fine. ;-)
