Looking for GPU upgrade advice

I have about $300 to invest in a new GPU, i'm looking for the best 1080p 144hz performance in that range, and I'm looking to upgrade from a 1060 3gb.
What are the best options in that price range? Is there anything worth it in that price range to upgrade to?

The rest of my setup as follows:

i5-9400f
32gb DDR4 3000hz
MSI z390 tomahawk
650 watt thermal take non-modular PSU

$300 is on the low side of RTX 2060 and RX 5700 pricing. the decently cooled cards cost over $300 though at about $320

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

Yeah i could definitely stretch to a few extra, that's not a concern. I'm looking for some advice on "is it a worthy upgrade for the cost?" and "whats the best option there?" all i have heard about the 5700s is poor cooling though

both sides have bad cooling cards (Ventus for 2060 for example, or all the blowers for RX 5700).
