Terminology seems mixed up.

Do you mean 4K? or 2k? Or 3440x1440?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

3440x1440 how did I say it wrong?

The p after 1440.  1440p is 2650x1400

So you want to go bigger than 4K, have 144hz  which means higher than 144fps.  Are there even monitors that big that hit that refresh rate?  At any rate I don’t think there’s anything out including a 2080ti even NVlinked dual 2080tis maybe, and only on the few games it actually works in.

What you could do though if the monitor has gsynch is run one of those cards in gsynch and get whatever refresh rate you get.  It will still look good.

Not bigger than 4K.

4k is 3840x2160. My monitor is 3440x1440 being able to push 144 FPS. I just wanted some recommendations for a CPU to handle it

Shoot for 4K and have a bit extra then.  Do you mean GPU rather than CPU?

Ah.  Well there could well be a problem there too, but the CPU isn’t that involved in the whole monitor thing. It is to some degree for say a CPU intensive game, but That’s what GPUs are for.  Running monitors.  I don’t think you’ll hit 144 FPS in a lot of things with that kind of resolution.  Frame cap of 144 and gsynch for when it (usually) will fall under.  If the monitor is freesynch but not gsynch I understand there is a brand new thing from Nvidia that allows it.

as for CPU, whatevs. Budget becomes more important there.
